We work for the development of community-based, inclusive, solidarity and innovative solutions for local, rural and social development. It focuses on bringing together local and academic knowledge and methods, developing local capacity and related areas of expertise, and strengthening social solidarity economies.

In this direction, it develops projects, designs training programmes and organises events in cooperation with public institutions and organisations, international organisations, non-governmental organisations and private sector components.

The Community Engagement Program continues its work for the localisation and realisation of sustainable development goals, especially SDG 1 ‘No Poverty’, SDG 2 ‘Zero Hunger’, SDG 10 ‘Reducing Inequalities’, SDG 11 ‘Sustainable Cities and Communities‘, SDG 13 ‘Climate Action’ and SDG 17 ‘Partnerships for the Goals‘. It contributes to our university’s research programmes and educational activities that offer innovative solutions to global problems, aim to improve the quality of life of society and contribute to a sustainable world.
