Yasemin Kilit Aklar

After graduating from Marmara University with a degree in International Relations, Yasemin pursued a master’s degree in Economics at Middle East Technical University. Upon receiving the YÖK graduate scholarship, she] furthered her studies at the London School of Economics, specialising in political economy and politics. From 2004 to 2009, she taught courses on ‘Politics’ and ‘Turkish Foreign Policy at Kocaeli University while also serving as the Director of the International Relations EU Office. Between 2009 and 2011, she worked as an instructor and was the International Relations Coordinator at Maltepe University. From 2011 to 2014, she was the Coordinator of the International Relations Office at Istanbul Şehir University. In September 2014, she joined Özyeğin University to establish the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Office and developed the university’s first sustainability report in 2020. In 2021, Yasemin was appointed Administrative Director of the Sustainability Platform at Özyeğin University. She also served as the Erasmus Institutional Coordination at Kocaeli, Maltepe, and Istanbul Şehir Universities. Since 2016, Yasemin has served as an external evaluator for various universities on behalf of the Higher Education Quality Council (YÖKAK).
